BOURNE TOWN HALL
Renovations and installation of Kitchen/Bar

Over the years, as the use of the building has changed, much of the original character of the building has been hidden by modern additions. Our first priority is to repair, restore and reveal as much of the original Georgian interior as possible.
Future vision
Create an arts & entertainment centre for the whole community
Our vision is to create a flexible space within the old courtroom providing comfortable tiered seating for small performances and community cinema. With the seating retracted the room can be used for exhibitions and receptions. The old Shambles will provide a wonderful meeting place and small performance area.
Charles Houseago, Chairman of the Bourne Town Hall Trust, said: “The essential building work was completed by GMF Builders who worked carefully on the Grade II listed structure, removing the 1990s office additions. In the process they uncovered some of the lost 19th century features of what was Bourne’s original covered marketplace.
“Specialist Bourne electrical contractors ALTO electrical completely rewired the room and replaced the lighting, and local decorators Kenny and Lucy Goldsmith donated over a week of their time - giving up paid work too - to complete a very challenging painting and decorating task.
“We are very grateful to everyone who has helped us get to this stage.”
Trustees are now planning a regular programme of events to fund the full restoration
